| Involved in railroad modeling from an early age, Boone continues this focus with a layout under construction at his home and an ongoing activity writing for various International modeling publications. |
|
His work is largely scratch built and depicts the historic North Pacific Coast Railroad, which ran 85 miles north from San Francisco to the Redwood groves of the Russian River. He is active in historic research and has established the Boone Morrison Collection at the Northwestern Pacific RR Historical Society, located in Santa Rosa, California. Though the layout is in HOn3 scale, he is also working in On3 and with large scale outdoor modeling as well, the latter now winding across his three acre property in Hawaii. He has earned five Merit Awards for his modeling from the National Model Railroad Association, has designed and mastered for several commercial modeling firms, and is a former professinal model builder whose firm Pacific Scale Models did architectural work in Honolulu. |
