Through the development of new techniques and materials, Boone Morrison Architects are able to re-introduce a range of decorative arts into the projects, while keeping costs under control. Decorated glass, art glass skylights, highly crafted woodwork and tile expressions bring a richness to the homes. Each element is custom designed for the specific project.

These decorated glass doors employ modern materials to achieve a traditional effect in a cost effective manner. Stock production glass doors, or custom units such as these, can be decorated in a wide variety of patterns and finishes suited to each project. A unique approach to producing decorative diffusion grilles for large skylights enables the introduction of natural light to interior spaces. Stickwork patterns reminiscent of Japanese Shoji Screens are combined with art glass and diffusion material to produce this spectacular effect.
This stair is brightened by the decorative skylight and enriched with the Redwood detailing of the railing and bannister. Lighting within the skylight provides illumination at night as well. In this unusual installation, a custom designed copper range hood drops through the center of a decorative skylight over the central stove island. Internal lighting brightens the area at night.
This library table, designed by the Architect, forms the centerpiece of a highly detailed, two story library. Fabricated from exotic woods found in Hawaii and with a figured granite top, this custom table is a heirloom in the making and will be treasured by it's owners for many years to come. These custom built-in cabinets in the Owners office employ exotic woods from Hawaii, as well as panels of woven cane to provide ventilation for the interior. The use of local woods and natural materials bring a unique Pacific feeling to otherwise functional designs.
The upper stair lobby in this restored historic office building is enriched with a large skylight diffuser that dominates the area. Though it is a modern design, it relates well with the restored historic interior.
